A tourist struggled to glide through a white water current on a canyoneering course.

Footage shows the adventurous holidaymaker being stuck between two large rocks as she tried to slip down the river in Cebu, the Philippines, on March 8.

She wore a helmet and life vest like the others in the group, who also had difficulty sliding down the adventure course at Kawasan Falls.

While the guide instructed them to remain seated and follow the current, she stood up and almost hit her face on a rock.

Tourist John Androland Boado said: 'She was swept away by the force of the water. He hands slipped over the smooth wet rocks.'

A guide quickly grabbed her to assist her back into position.

The tourist was unhurt and moved along with the trail.
