Los Angeles, United States - March 22, 2025 03/22/2025 11:04 pm (GMT-0700) POMONA, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol from the Baldwin Park Area station received multiple 911 calls about a wrong-way driver traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway near the 71 Freeway in Pomona. Shortly afterward, additional calls reported a traffic collision involving the wrong-way driver on the westbound 60, just west of Reservoir Street. One of the vehicles caught fire, but firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze. Several individuals and a child were transported to local hospitals with undetermined conditions. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters and paramedics. As a result of the collision, only the right two lanes of the westbound 60 Freeway at South Reservoir Street remained open.
