Driver Flees Twice, Crashes, Then Calls Police to Confess in Minnesota
n one of the more unexpected turns of events, Chaska Police found themselves on the receiving end of a surprising phone call—straight from the suspect who had earlier fled from them… twice. It all began around 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, when officers responded to a report of a suspicious white vehicle. The driver had no ID, no license, and a story that didn’t quite add up. When officers stepped away to verify his identity, the man sped off at a dangerous speed. Officers, prioritizing public safety, chose not to pursue but quickly issued an alert to surrounding departments.
Later that day, the Bloomington Police Department reported that the same car had fled from them as well—and this time, it crashed. About 15 minutes later, the vehicle was found abandoned in the middle of the road with meth inside. It was impounded by Bloomington PD and held for Chaska officers.
Then came the twist. The next day, a man called Chaska PD claiming to be the uncle of the driver and inquiring about how to get the car back. According to the department, “Halfway through the phone call, he casually confessed that he was the driver... one could say that the officer he was talking to has a way with words.” As it turns out, “his real name isn’t what he originally told us, nor is he an uncle. Also, he had 5 outstanding arrest warrants.” The department added one final bit of advice: “Next time, skip the high-speed drama and don’t lie to the police about who you are. Also, your window tint is illegal.”
