In a dramatic rescue that could have ended in tragedy, Officer Tyler Summers of the Denton Police Department acted without hesitation to save a man in danger.

According to the City of Denton Police Department, Officer Summers spotted a man crawling toward the railroad tracks on E. Hickory Street yesterday afternoon as a train rapidly approached. Recognizing the immediate danger, Officer Summers sprinted into action, reaching the man just in time to pull him away from the tracks and out of harm’s way.

The department shared that the man is known to experience mental illness, underscoring the critical importance of Officer Summers’ swift and compassionate response.
