LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Fire Rescue successfully rescued a dog trapped in a sewer drain late Monday morning outside the Amazon Fulfillment Facility in the 1100 block of East Hunter Street.

Crews were dispatched just before 11:15 a.m. following reports from callers who saw the dog stuck inside the drain. Upon arrival, Lubbock Fire requested additional support from the department’s Heavy Rescue team, the City of Lubbock Public Works Department, and Lubbock Animal Services.

Working collaboratively, the teams devised a plan to safely extricate the dog without injury. The animal was rescued and is now in the care of Lubbock Animal Services, where it will be placed on a three-day hold before being made available for adoption.
