COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police officers had an unusual traffic duty this morning when they safely escorted a family of geese off a busy freeway.

Dubbed the "Goose Patrol" in a lighthearted post by the Columbus Division of Police, the officers used a leaf blower—strictly for sound—to help guide the birds off the roadway without harm.

“No feathered friends were harmed,” the department noted, thanking motorists for their patience and cooperation.

The department reminded drivers to stay alert for wildlife on the roads, especially during spring migration season.
