A massive fire engulfed a rubber factory in Padang, West Sumatra. The fire caused smoke to be seen within a 10-kilometer radius of the location.

It has been more than 9 hours, and the fire that occurred at the PT. Teluk Luas rubber factory has not been extinguished. In fact, it is getting bigger.

"With this rubber, after it is extinguished, it can flare up again. That has happened a lot since earlier. After we extinguished it, it flared up again," said the Head of the Padang Fire Department, Budi Payan.

In addition to the rubber issue, the team also faced obstacles in the availability of water at the location, because there were no hydrants at the factory.

"Our obstacle is that this is a very large pile of rubber. There are also no hydrants at this location, so cars have to go back and forth," he explained.

To extinguish the fire, more than 30 cars have been deployed to the location.
