At 7 a.m. on May 20, the Public Security Bureau of Fuyun County, Xinjiang, received an urgent rescue call from a local herdsman, reporting that one of his young camels was trapped in the middle of a river. Upon receiving the call, the police quickly mobilized, bringing with them professional rescue equipment including an inflatable kayak, ropes, and protective gear, and rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers found that the river's current was swift, and the young camel, stranded in the center, was panicking and visibly exhausted, facing the imminent danger of being swept away by the water. Taking into account the complex terrain and fast-flowing river, the officers quickly devised a rescue plan. Wearing life jackets and carrying ropes, they approached the camel using the kayak.

Due to the strong current, the rescue operation was extremely challenging. Drawing on their extensive rescue experience, the officers managed to get close to the camel and successfully looped a rope around it. With coordinated efforts from officers on the riverbank, they worked together and, after 30 tense minutes, finally pulled the waterlogged camel safely ashore.

Once ashore, the officers conducted a brief examination of the camel and, finding it unharmed, returned it to the herdsman. The herdsman expressed deep gratitude for the timely rescue. The officers also advised him to strengthen supervision of his livestock in the future to prevent similar incidents.
