Llombai, Spain - May 25, 2025 A 61-year-old cyclist was airlifted after suffering a leg injury in a remote area of Llombai. The man fell during a route and was unable to continue on his own. The Valencia Provincial Fire Consortium activated a large rescue operation. Ground teams from the Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigade and the sergeant from the Alzira fire station were dispatched. At the same time, aerial rescuers from the Special High Altitude Rescue Group and an emergency V-990 helicopter with a doctor on board were deployed. Once located, the medical team attended to the injured cyclist and immobilized him using a vacuum mattress, a standard technique to prevent worsening the injury. He was then airlifted to the Alzira helipad and handed over to medical services for evaluation and transport to a hospital.
