Resident shocked to find thousands of bugs covering floor inside her home
This is the stomach-turning moment a resident found thousands of bugs covering the floor of her home.
Skin-crawling footage captured by resident Ratchadarin Phueng Khum shows a swarm of winged termites lying motionless in the living room in Phitsanulok Province, Thailand.
Ratchadarin said: 'It was horrifying to see all the insects clumped up together like that. I had goosebumps. I swept them out of the house, but they usually just return to swarm me again.'
The creatures, also known as alates, had gathered in the woman's house to mate, forming large brown mounds on the tiled floor.
The behaviour is part of the insects' natural reproductive cycle. During this period, usually triggered during the rainy monsoon season, the termites take flight to mate and establish new colonies.
