Drunk Driver Passed Out at Intersection Arrested in Commerce City
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man was arrested for DUI over the weekend after police found him passed out behind the wheel in the middle of an intersection, with his car still running, according to the Commerce City Police Department.
Officers discovered the vehicle stopped at East 104th Avenue and Walden Street with the driver unconscious. A tire-deflation device was placed under the front passenger-side tire before officers roused the man, who then attempted to flee.
With a flattened tire, the vehicle only made it a few blocks before coming to a stop. The driver was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Police reminded the public of the dangers of impaired driving and issued a stern warning: “Don’t. Do. It. Here.”
