1. What exactly is happening in the video?

While I was livestreaming on TikTok in the streets of Mumbai, India, I heard a cat crying out in distress. I followed the sound and found a young boy, around 13 years old, trying to save the cat. The animal was stuck on a floating pile of trash in a severely polluted black river, right next to a large rat.
The boy reached out his hand, and the cat made an incredible leap and latched onto him with its claws. The pain and the sudden jolt caused the boy to lose balance, and both fell into the toxic river.

2. Who is involved ?

The child is approximately 13 years old. I do not know his name, as we couldn't communicate due to the language barrier.
I, Saïd Aziza, also known as Saidblogger, am the one who filmed the video.

3. Where, specifically, did it happen?

It happened in the Saki Naka area of Mumbai, India, not far from my guesthouse.

4. When, specifically, did it happen?

The event occurred on January 30, 2024.

5. Who filmed the video and on what device was it filmed?

I filmed it myself, Saïd Aziza (Saidblogger), using my Vivo X80 Pro smartphone, during a live TikTok broadcast.

6. Why did it happen?

The boy acted on instinct and compassion. He was determined to rescue the cat. When the cat latched onto his hand with its claws, the pain, combined with the shock and imbalance, caused him to fall.
After the incident, I told him to wash his hand immediately, as it was bleeding and had been in contact with highly polluted water. He had also swallowed some of it. I offered to take him to a hospital, but communication was difficult, and he eventually returned home on his own. I haven’t heard from him since.

7. Have you shared this video with any other licensing agencies e.g. LADbible, Storyful, Viralhog, Jukin etc before Newsflare?

No.
This video is exclusively licensed to Newsflare.
The only public versions are on my own social media accounts:

• Instagram (with a French caption): https://www.instagram.com/p/C2nVmNqoYO-/
• YouTube: Saidblogger

Note: the version I submitted to Newsflare does not contain any caption or added text.
I have also been contacted by various individuals and agencies through Instagram offering to license the video, but I didn’t follow up, as I was cautious of potential scams.

Any additional information?

Roughly 1,000 people were watching live on TikTok when it happened.
I downloaded the livestream later, extracted the key moment, and posted it as a Reel on Instagram. The video quickly went viral and reached:

• 334 million views
• 7.3 million likes
• 5.1 million shares

Its success is largely due to the authenticity of the moment, the raw emotion, and the powerful, unexpected twist. It’s a deeply human scene that resonated across the world.
