This is the heartwarming moment a mother broke down in tears when her children made an unexpected return home.

Jhon Patrick De Villa Blanza and his siblings secretly planned their trip back to the Philippines after spending five years working in Taiwan without informing their family.

Footage captures Jhon Patrick's journey from the airport to their house, where stunned relatives welcomed them in Bataan province on May 28.

Their 75-year-old mother was instantly overwhelmed with emotion and wept as they shared an embrace.

Jhon Patrick said: ‘We are three siblings employed in Taiwan. We decided to come back and surprise everyone, since it would be the first time we would all be together again after five years.

‘It was also in time for our parents' birthdays, which are just days apart.'

He added that no one was aware of their arrival. The family had gathered expecting only their uncle, who is also an overseas worker but were met with an even bigger surprise.

He said: ‘Everyone was in the house to greet him, but they were surprised to see us too.'

Many Filipino workers go to Taiwan due to higher wages and better job opportunities compared with what is available locally.

Taiwan also has a strong demand for foreign labour, especially in manufacturing, caregiving, and construction sectors.
