Arvada Officers Assist Firefighters With Brush Fire Near Canyon Pines
ARVADA, Colo. — Arvada police officers got a taste of firefighting on July 9 while assisting with a small brush fire near the Canyon Pines neighborhood in northwest Arvada.
At about 1 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported smoke and flames near Highways 93 and 72. Arvada officers were among the first on the scene and teamed up with Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue to begin firefighting efforts. Video shared by the department shows officers humorously struggling to manage a fire hose—reinforcing their preference for police work.
Additional support from Boulder Fire-Rescue and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office helped bring the blaze under control. No injuries or property damage were reported, and while the cause remains undetermined, arson is not suspected.
