U.S. tech giant Nvidia has welcomed the U.S. approval to resume H20 chip sales in China, a move CEO Jensen Huang described as a "once-in-a-generation opportunity" to lead global AI technology, during an interview on Tuesday. Speaking in Beijing, Huang announced plans to launch Nvidia's H20 chips in the Chinese market, highlighting the pivotal role of U.S.-approved export licenses in enabling the rollout. "This is a once in a generation opportunity to lead the artificial intelligence technology. And in order to to lead the technology, we need to make sure that all the great researchers of artificial intelligence can use our technology stack," he said. Huang emphasized China's prominent role in AI innovation, noting that it boasts half of the global talent pool in the field. He said he was "very happy" to see the development of AI in the country, attributing it to the country's robust education in science and mathematics. "And 50 percent of the world's AI researchers are here in China and there are so many innovative and dynamic companies here in China. It's really important that American companies are able to compete and serve the market here in China. It's a great springboard for all of the other markets as well," the CEO said. This is Huang's third visit to China since the start of 2025. Huang will attend the opening ceremony of the third China International Supply Chain Expo on Wednesday and participate in related activities. Shotlist: Beijing, China - July 15, 2025: 1.
