US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita LAPD Bomb Squad Assists LASD Deputies With Explosives Call Day After Deadly Blast
Los Angeles, United States - July 19, 2025 07/19/2025 02:30 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Just one day after a deadly explosion claimed the lives of three Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies at a training facility, a potential explosive threat at a Santa Clarita home prompted a joint response from the LASD and the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad on Saturday afternoon. The incident began shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 27900 block of Lost Springs Road in the Canyon Country neighborhood, where a possible explosive device was reportedly discovered at or near a residential property, according to witnesses. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station quickly responded and, given the heightened sensitivity following Friday’s fatal blast, called in the LAPD’s bomb squad for assistance. The area was locked down for several hours as technicians assessed and eventually removed the suspicious device. Details about the nature of the device have not yet been released. The incident comes amid a somber weekend for local law enforcement, with Friday’s tragedy still fresh in the minds of deputies and officers across Southern California. No injuries were reported in Saturday’s response, and the investigation into the device is ongoing. Drone footage featured here has been reviewed and verified by Key News Network LLC.
