This is the shocking moment a bungling tourist tried to do a wheel - then crashed his rented scooter through a pharmacy shopfront.

Salam Sulaiman Ahmed, 24, struck the drugstore with the two-wheeled vehicle in Samut Songkhram, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the Middle Eastern holidaymaker twisting the throttle of the motorbike, causing it to lurch forward and slam into the storefront on July 18.

He can be seen speeding inside, shattering the glass door on impact, with shards of glass scattering everywhere.

Salam then collided with the counter, causing both him and the scooter to topple over.

Local media reported that the Emirati sustained a laceration on his left calf, injuries to his left foot and ankle, and multiple abrasions across his body.

Ms Elle, a pharmacist on duty, contacted the Kusoldharm Foundation's Kuan Yang Patong unit for first aid assistance, and he was immediately transported to Patong Hospital.

The chemist recalled that a group of six Middle Eastern men had come in to buy medicine. One of the women in the group, described as quite attractive, appeared to reject the man's attempt to flirt.

She said: 'He went outside the store, and while I'm not sure what he intended to do, it seemed like he signalled something to her, then revved the bike and tried to do a wheelie.

'That's when the unexpected happened, the bike flew straight into the pharmacy. I was shocked because everything happened so fast. I never thought something like this would happen.'

The pharmacy owner and the tourist are currently negotiating compensation for the damages caused by the incident.
