Electric Current Runs Through IGL Gas Pipeline in Shamli; Brave Mother and Maternal Uncle Rescue Child in Shocking Incident
A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district, where a sudden electric current surged through an IGL gas pipeline, endangering lives. A young girl who was playing outside her house came into contact with the pipeline and suffered electric shocks for nearly 16 seconds.
What followed was an act of pure courage. The child’s mother, without a second thought for her own safety, rushed to rescue her daughter — making multiple attempts to pull her away from the electrified pipeline. Despite being shocked herself, she did not give up.
Soon after, the child’s maternal uncle, alerted by the commotion, arrived at the spot and forcefully pulled the child away, ultimately saving her life. The child was given immediate first aid, and her condition is now reported to be stable.
The incident took place in the Railpar locality under the Adarsh Mandi police station area. The entire sequence was captured on a CCTV camera installed on a nearby house, and it has raised serious concerns among the local residents.
Following the incident, angry locals accused IGL Gas Company of gross negligence and demanded action. They also forced the gas supply through the pipeline to be shut down immediately.
It's important to note that IGL has been laying pipelines in the district to supply cooking gas to households. However, this incident has highlighted serious lapses in safety protocols. Residents are now demanding strict accountability and action against those responsible to ensure such a dangerous situation is never repeated.
