US, Phoenix: Phoenix Ocotillo Road First Alarm Four-Plex Fire
Phoenix, United States - July 30, 2025 07/29/2025 09:56 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department press release: Crews have extinguished a fast-moving fire in a four-plex apartment building located near 21st Ave and Glendale Ave. Firefighters arrived on scene just after 10:00 PM Tuesday night and found an exterior fire that was extending into the attic and roof of the apartment building. Crews extended hose lines into the structure while the ladder crew went to the roof for a coordinated fire attack. The residents had safely escaped the fire prior to the arrival of fire units. Firefighters had to contend with downed power lines that were arching to the rear of the building, causing a safety hazard. The coordinated fire attack stopped the fire from extending into two of the connected apartment units. It appears the fire started as an exterior fire, fueled by old furniture and trash situated up against the building. That original fire extended into the apartment complex. The fire was balanced to a first alarm due to the amount of fire initially encountered by crews. However, the first arriving units were able to gain fire control and extinguish the fire. There were no injuries reported on the fire ground, and fire investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire. Members of the community assistance program are on scene assisting two displaced individuals. Captain Rob McDade Public Information Officer Phoenix Fire Department
