Los Angeles, United States - August 03, 2025 08/03/2025 02:30 am GMT-0700 STEVENSON RANCH, Calif. – A suspected burglar lost consciousness in the back of a sheriff’s patrol vehicle early Sunday morning after allegedly breaking into a closed LA Fitness gym in Stevenson Ranch while a cleaning crew was inside. The incident unfolded shortly before 2:30 a.m. at the gym located in the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road. Two employees tasked with cleaning the facility called 911, reporting that an unknown man had entered the building and was stealing tools. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded swiftly and located the suspect inside the gym. He was detained without incident and handcuffed before being placed in the back of a patrol SUV. However, at approximately 3:14 a.m., deputies requested emergency medical services after the suspect lost consciousness in the vehicle. According to radio traffic, Narcan — a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses — was administered by deputies at 3:16 a.m. The man was subsequently transported to a local hospital. His condition remains unknown. Recovered tools were collected from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity, and it remains unclear what, if any, substance may have contributed to his medical emergency.
