This is the heartwarming moment fishermen saved a drowning dog that was tangled in a discarded net.

Two anglers spotted the black-and-white pooch wrapped in mesh in the middle of a lake in Rayong, Thailand.

This prompted the kindhearted men to paddle towards the hapless canine and help it on June 7.

Footage shows one of the rescuers cutting the net with a pair of scissors looped around the dog's leg.

However, they struggled to remove the thread, with some fish still caught in it, because the visibly terrified pup attempted to bite them out of panic and fear.

After a painstaking effort, they managed to lift the dog onto the boat, cut the net successfully, and release it back to the shore.

The animal can be seen quickly running off to safety after the ordeal.
