Footage shows shoppers gathering around the Lord Jatulokbal Shrine on the fourth floor of Gaysorn Tower in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 26.

They lit incense sticks and placed them into a golden bowl in front of the statue, while others laid marigold garlands beneath the deity's sculpture.

Lord Jatulokbal is a celestial guardian in Thai Buddhist tradition, believed to protect the four realms of existence. His name derives from Chatulokban, meaning 'four worlds,' symbolising his role as a powerful protector of the universe and upholder of cosmic balance.

This belief reflects Thai Buddhist cosmology, which blends Theravada Buddhist teachings with local animist and Hindu-influenced spiritual elements.

Deities like Jatulokbal are often venerated alongside Buddha images, representing the Thai people's deep-rooted respect for both moral virtue and divine guardianship in their spiritual practices.
