Passerby performs CPR to save his electrocuted cat
This is the dramatic moment a passerby performed CPR to save an electrocuted cat.
The orange moggy named Thongkham climbed onto cable wires before being shocked and falling to the ground in Bangkok, Thailand.
This prompted a kindhearted local to immediately perform cardiac resuscitation while one of the pet owners called her veterinary assistant father, Prasit Makabodin, for help.
When Prasit arrived at the scene, he saw the man attempting to revive the unconscious cat lying on its back, performing CPR as if it were a human.
Prasit quickly took over, positioning the frazzled feline on its side and performing chest compressions.
Footage shows the dad on his knees pushing on the cat's chest while two other men hold its limbs on the afternoon of July 11.
Moments later, they heard the eight-month-old moggy softly meowing, prompting the concerned residents to burst into relieved sighs and cheers.
Thongkham was then taken to a veterinary clinic for further medical treatment.
In a later clip, the feline can be seen wearing an Elizabethan collar and a diaper while eating cat food.
After days of medical treatment, the orange cat recovered and was brought back home.
Prasit said: 'Our family adopted Thongkham after his mother came to the canal beside our house.
'Since I work as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital, I have knowledge in providing help.
'Before I arrived, someone was already performing CPR on the cat, but they did it incorrectly by doing it the way you would for a human, laying the cat on its back.
'So, I stepped in to help, placing the cat on its side and doing chest compressions. I kept pumping until the cat regained consciousness. Then we took her to the hospital for further treatment, and she recovered safely.'
On July 21, a food delivery rider resuscitated a grey cat that was rescued from a burning house.
Local media reported that the cat was taken to a veterinarian for further treatment and is currently recovering from the ordeal.
