On August 8, in Naqu, Tibet, a Tibetan bear suddenly broke into the Sap Mountain Tourist Center. At the time, staff were having lunch, and they quickly grabbed sticks and other hard objects, making loud noises to successfully drive the bear out without any injuries.

The bear was a Tibetan bear, which comes in both black and brownish-yellow varieties. According to those involved, brown Tibetan bears are generally more docile and usually do not attack humans, though a mother with cubs may attack to protect them. Black Tibetan bears, however, are more aggressive.

A representative from Naqu’s Forestry and Grassland Bureau said such incidents are rare and considered isolated. They reminded the public not to feed bears and to leave the area quickly if encountered, to ensure personal safety.
