Los Angeles, United States - August 13, 2025 08/13/2025 02:02 am GMT-0700 LENNOX, Calif. – A California Highway Patrol officer assigned to a construction detail near Hawthorne and the west 105 Freeway witnessed a red vehicle leave the main lanes and crash down an embankment. Realizing the severity of the situation, the officer rushed down to the vehicle and found a male driver trapped inside. The man was alert and able to communicate, prompting the officer to request assistance from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and extricated the man from the wrecked Toyota. He was subsequently transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with serious injuries. Had the CHP officer not witnessed the crash, it is likely the male would have remained undiscovered due to the dense brush obscuring the vehicle from view on the freeway. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop in an alley behind the 4900 block of West 112th Street.
