A fish with a bent body was seen swimming like a hydrofoil board bouncing out of the water.

The carp, which had been raised on a farm, was injured as a fry but still grew into adulthood with a noticeable deformation in Altai Krai, Russia.

Footage shows the freshwater animal being launched into a pond by a farmer who discovered it on August 22.

The carp's tail was bent unusually to the left side of its body, creating a wiggling motion when it glided.

It even appeared to hop along the water's surface like a hydrofoil board.

Fish pond owner Vadim Petrov said: ‘The fish was injured when it was still a young fry during stocking.'
