Phoenix, United States - September 01, 2025 08/31/2025 08:50 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department press release: Firefighters were dispatched around 9 PM to the area of 7th Street and Broadway Rd for reports of a structure fire. On arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from a vacant building. Due to the structure being fully involved, command switched to a defensive strategy. Crews used elevated master streams to prevent the fire from extending to an adjacent structure and eventually extinguishing the flames. At this time, no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Due to the structure being vacant no one will be displaced. Cruz will remain on the scene extinguishing all remaining hotspots.
