Phoenix, United States - October 09, 2025 10/09/2025 01:50 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police officers and fire department crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision with the driver and sole occupant trapped at the intersection of 48th Street and Oak Street. According to information gathered at the scene, the driver was traveling westbound on Oak Street and failed to execute a turn at the T-intersection for 48th Street. The vehicle continued west, striking multiple concrete pillars near a storm drain. Phoenix Fire Department crews extracted the driver from the vehicle following an extensive mechanical extrication operation. The unidentified driver was transported to a nearby trauma center with serious injuries. The collision resulted in a hard closure for 48th Street while the Phoenix Police Department investigated the incident.
