Heroic delivery rider climbs 4 floors to rescue young boy hanging window's security bars
At around 12:50 p.m. on 25 October, in Kaifeng, Henan Province, a frightening incident occurred at the Dahong Century New City residential complex. A young boy’s head became stuck between the bars of a fourth-floor security window, leaving his body hanging in mid-air and his life in danger.
Delivery rider Cui Yulong heard the cries for help and, without hesitation, climbed up to the fourth floor with his bare hands, working together with the boy’s mother inside the flat to pull the child to safety.
At the time of the incident, Cui had just finished delivering an order when he saw the boy hanging outside the window, with his mother inside desperately holding on but running out of strength.
Quickly assessing the situation, he used the security grilles on the exterior wall as footholds to climb upward. When he reached the top of the third-floor window bars, he tried to lift the boy up to his mother but couldn’t quite reach. He then propped up his left leg to give the boy a foothold, allowing the mother to pull him back inside.
Once the child was safely rescued, cheers and applause erupted from onlookers below. The boy was later examined and found to be unharmed.
Cui Yulong said, “I just felt I could climb up, so I didn’t think twice about it, I have a child too. When I first started climbing, I was a bit scared and exhausted, and my arms were shaking when I came down, but saving that boy was worth it. It saved a family.”
