This is the shocking moment a child was hit by a car while running after his friends across a car park.

CCTV footage shows the schoolboy sprinting out of his school to follow two classmates in Omsk, Russia.

As the youngster dashed through the gates onto Tupoleva Street, a passing blue hatchback struck him on October 28.

The boy, wearing a yellow coat, can be seen falling onto the asphalt upon impact.

The visibly shocked female driver immediately stopped the car, stepped out, and rushed to check on the child before carrying him as he cried.

Local media reported that the boy did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

Neighbours said they had repeatedly written to the authorities requesting road safety signs or speed bumps be installed in the area, but their appeals were denied.

Residents are now renewing calls for urgent safety measures before a more serious accident occurs.
