Buy video

Aerial video footage shows a pile of garbage stretching approximately 300 meters along Muaro Lasak Beach, West Padang District, Padang City, on Wednesday afternoon (November 26, 2025). From the air, the expanse of trash appears to cover almost the entire shoreline, from the estuary to the Merpati Perdamaian Monument area. In the video, the trash is seen piled densely on the sand. The material carried by the current is predominantly wood, used tires, plastic bottles, tree trunks, clothing, baby diapers, and various other types of household waste. The pile forms a long line clearly visible from above. The waves, which continue to push the trash toward the shore, exacerbate the situation. Large pieces of debris, such as tree trunks, are also strewn across the tourist area, which is usually bustling with residents. As of midday, no major cleanup efforts were visible. Local residents said this situation recurs every rainy season when river currents carry trash out to sea, where it is then washed ashore by waves.
