A total of 29 scientific facilities and platforms have already entered the research phase, cementing the area’s status as one of the world’s most densely clustered hubs for major sci-tech infrastructure. Beyond advancing Beijing’s role as a leading center for innovation, President Xi Jinping has also emphasized the need for stronger coordination with neighboring Tianjin and Hebei. To date, the three regions have jointly funded over 220 basic research cooperation projects and established numerous innovation consortiums to promote development. At present, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has established seven national advanced manufacturing clusters. China's central authorities have also expanded the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center to the whole region to further enhance its overall innovation capability.
