Construction of Temporary Housing for Flood Victims in Batu Busuk, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia

Soldiers of the Indonesian Army from Kodam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol are building 100 units of temporary shelters for victims of the galodo disaster or flash floods in Batu Busuk, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia on Monday, December 29, 2025. In addition to Padang City, temporary shelters are also being built in other affected areas such as Agam Regency. In this phase, the Central Government assists local governments in facilitating affected communities in the housing sector.

In addition, the central government also announced housing assistance schemes for residents in three provinces: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said the government will provide help for those whose homes are lightly, moderately, or severely damaged. Stimulus assistance for lightly damaged homes is IDR 15 million and for moderately damaged homes is IDR 30 million.
