Search and cleanup operations are ongoing uninterrupted in Hutanabolon village in the Tukka district of Central Tapanuli regency, one of the areas hardest hit by flash floods and landslides.

Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said the death toll from the Sumatra floods had reached 1,154, with 165 people still missing as of Dec. 31, 2025. The floods and landslides affected millions of people across 52 districts and cities in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
