Girl pulled out of 110-feet deep borewell after 30 hours
Rescue officials pulled out a three-year-old girl from a 110-feet deep borewell after a marathon 30-hour rescue operation.
The anxious crowd, which had gathered at the site of the mishap, broke into an applause after a rescue official surfaced carrying the mud-smeared girl.
Sana, 3, fell into the borewell while playing at her grandparents’ house on July 31. Her family members saw her slipping inside and raised the alarm.
Rescue work started immediately and officials, including personnel from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), worked tirelessly to dig a trench parallel to the shaft.
Munger Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangla said: “The girl was trapped at a depth of 45 feet deep. She was provided oxygen with the help of cylinders and pipes."
Officials managed to send water and chocolates to Sana. Her mother spoke to her continuously through a device to keep her morale high.
At 9.45 pm on August 1, a rescue worker managed to grab Sana through a horizontal axis carved into the trench and brought her up to safety.
They rushed her to a local hospital, where doctors treated her. She is out of danger and recovering well.
