Hikers in western Thailand didn't fancy camping in this weather when a storm blew in from the coast and left their tents flattened.

The freshly pitched tents were laid out for groups of countryside lovers to enjoy the views over Tak province looking out to the border with Burma.

But a sudden storm caused heavy downpours and strong winds which left the blue and green huts flattened by the torrential weather.

Camper Chawapon Limpat said the weather was ''brutal'' during his trip on July 8.

He added: ''I had been walking through many forests to reach this point. The wind was blowing until the tents were flat. The wind didn't stop until night time.''

The scene was captured some 1,384, above sea level and a seven hour walk from the nearest homes in Ban Tak city.

Chawapon said there were many steep slopes and dewy mist that limiteds visibility. He added: ''The weather can also change quickly so it's a very challenging area for new hikers.''
