Wildcat which attacked two men was rescued by the forest officials after a marathon operation of 2 hours in Greater Noida, India
A wildcat strayed inside a boundary fence of the Sadallapur village in the Greater Noida area of the National capital region in India and attacked a boy.
The leopard had hidden behind the boundary walls and waiting for prey when the boy was passing by. The leopard pounced upon the boy immediately on seeing him and injured him on his hands and shoulder. He somehow managed to flee from the spot.
It also attacked another 30-year-old man who also managed to escape with torn clothes and bruises.
After having an encounter with the wild cat they went to the ex-chairman of the village and informed him about the leopard’s presence.
The ex-chairman informed the police and forest officials who came to the spot in order to rescue the wild cat.
It took almost four hours for the officials to make necessary arrangements to trap the feline. After equipping themselves with safety nets, cage and tranquillizer the operation began around 4:30 pm.
After a marathon operation of two long hours, the leopard was caught and trapped inside the cage. The forest officials had also called 5 trained experts from the Wildlife SOS Meerut and Delhi zoo.
In the video, the wild cat can be seen running in the open farm as it jumps through the boundary walls and chases a man. It returns again as the villagers watch the feline in action.
The trained experts then catch the wildcat and trap him inside a cage after two hours which brought a sigh of relief among the villagers.
