Swiss tourist rampages through Thai resort after smashing glass door at police station
This is the terrifying moment a blood-covered shirtless tourist stormed through bars after smashing a glass door at a police station.
The drunk Swiss holidaymaker was detained in the early hours of the morning in Pattaya, Thailand, after complaints that he was behaving badly.
Officers detained him at the local station where he was about to be interviewed but he then kicked a glass door - sending shards flying on the ground as he ran outside.
The man harassed locals drinking at bars on the bustling beachfront - yelling incoherently and dripping with blood. Police eventually arrested him around 30 minutes later.
Lieutenant General Chakkrit Chantakamrong said: ''The tourist was first seen carrying a bottle of liquor and he was in a very drunken state. We moved him to the second floor of the police station and he used his feet to kick a glass door until it was broken.
''He had a leg wound but ran away, with blood flowing on the floor. Police followed him onto the Beach Road a few metres from the station.''
Officers stalked the man as he wandered through packed bars harassing guests and staff. He was eventually detained after 30 minutes and taken to hospital.
The man, who was not named, had his wound bandaged up before being taken back to police where he was allowed to sober up before police interviewed him.
Lieutenant General Chantakamrong said: ''The man had no ID or passport on him and he was not able to communicate so we had to wait for him to recover.''
