A woman was filmed talking to doctors during the course of her brain surgery, which took place in Jaipur city in north west India's Rajasthan state. The incident took place on March 8.

Visuals from the scene showed the woman responding to doctors who performed the surgery upon her. The woman was heard telling the doctors her name and her place of residence when they asked him the same.

Reports identified the woman as Shanti Devi, a 35-year-old who remained awake during the whole operation, which took around three hours to complete.

She was moved to the hospital after she complained of dizziness and uneasiness while speaking.

Upon examination, doctors found the woman's brain had developed a tumour, which had grown at the region which controls speech.

The woman even kept talking to her husband throughout the operation.

The operation was deemed successful.
