Helmet saves scooter driver’s life after his head bumps into forklift
This is the terrifying moment a scooter driver smacked his head on the prongs of a forklift and was knocked down onto the ground.
In the CCTV video, shot in Suzhou City in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province on March 12, a scooter driver is driving along a road when he suddenly bumps his head onto the prongs on a forklift parked on the roadside. He can then be seen leaning back and falling down onto the ground.
Thanks to the helmet, the scooter driver only suffered skin trauma and he was not in a life-threatening condition.
According to reports, more than 70% of scooter drivers who died in accidents were caused by head injuries in Shanghai in 2017.
However despite this, the percentage of helmet usage on drivers was 12.5% and only 2.0% on passengers.
