Elephant fell in ditch & collapsed in southern India.

Mahout arrested in Trichy. A mahout Mr Baskar who belongs to Srirangam constituency of Trichy district had maintained an elephant named Gulabi. On 17th March he carried the elephant by a lorry from Srirangam to Pollachi in connection to participate in a private ceremony. When getting down, unfortunately the elephant slipped and fall down in to a nearby ditch and couldn't get up from the ditch. After rescued from the ditch the elephant was not able to walk. Finally the elephant died. Forest officials have been made an enquiry. Finally they concluded that the owner the elephant had not maintained the elephant properly. Subsequently they registered a case against Mr. Baskar and arrested.
