hundreds of chefs follow the rendang food cooking festival in the city of Padang

Hundreds of chefs from schools that have cooking majors and teams from all regions of Indonesia participated in the Rendang Cooking Competition in Padang City on July 26 at the Adhityawarman Museum. this famous and long-lasting cooking contest the committee gave each team time to cook for 4 hours.

each team was given 1 kg of meat and spices made from native Indonesian tropical spices.

all participants seemed enthusiastic to strive to be the best even though the rendang cuisine was not a native cuisine of their region, because rendang cuisine is a typical dish from the tribe of Minang, West Sumatra which is known for its delicious and long-lasting in all parts of the world.

the committee will assess the team who can give a new image of flavor to the rendang cuisine and to tender beef cooked with santa and other spices.

one participant from the West Papua region, Yanti said, "changing the taste of identical Minang dishes is quite difficult, because the rendang cuisine can already be integrated into the tongue of all tribes in Indonesia including overseas."

Arfian, head of the City Padang Tourism Office, said that "the rendering of the rendang cooking festival aims to introduce food that is now recognized throughout the world with its delicious taste and can last for months from authentic Indonesian spices."

at the 2019 rendang competition, the team from the Central Java region chef team won, in the second place, the team won the Bangka Belitung chef and ranked 3rd in the team from North Sumatra.
