9-year-old's tears goes viral in India as government destroys tree she planted years ago
Class 5th student Valentina Elangbam ( 9 Years) video went viral on internet where she could be seen crying Inconsolably over cutting down 2 Gulmohar trees planted by her when she was 5 year old and was studying in class 1 . Valentina lives in Kakching District of Manipur She had planted two Gulmohar trees when she was in class 1 near the bank of a river near her house , it was cut down by authorities for road widening at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai area . Valentina uncle ,Monen who recorded the full video said that on 3rd August while going to school in morning she told her mother to take care of tress so that it won’t cut down by authorities but when she returned from school she saw the tress chopped and fallen ..seeing this she started crying profusely ..while recording the video her uncle asked her what she is going to do now , she replied she is going to plant 20 saplings now for two tress that have been cut .
The girl’s tears touched many hearts online and the video was seen by Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh also, who later appointed her the brand ambassador for the Chief Minister’s Green Manipur Mission scheme. Family of Valentina is very delighted and happy
