Delivery driver rushing to make his next drop-off smashes into car at junction
A delivery driver rushing to make his next drop-off smashed into a motorists who pulled out a T-junction.
Van driver Nattapol Niyomsak and his girlfriend were travelling to their next job in Chanthaburi, Thailand last Tueday (08/10) afternoon.
CCTV shows how they sped through a clear intersection just as a small white Toyota being driven by a woman pulled out to turn right.
The express courier clattered into the car before flipping over onto its side. The female driver was knocked out and rushed to hospital.
Nattapol said that he already honked his horn at the car when he saw it crossing.
He said: "I was driving on the main road to make the next delivery and then the white car appeared from my left side.
"I honked on the horn to warn the driver but the car did not stop and I crashed into it. My van flipped over but luckily me and my girlfriend were safe.
"This T-junction is very quiet but it has caused a lot of accidents. Some drivers who are from another area are not familiar with it."
The driver was taken to hospital while police wait to interview her about the accident.
Police Colonel Noppadon Sutthiserm said that the police suspect she was driving carelessly.
He said: "The cameras show that the woman came out of the junction carelessly, so she will be charged with careless driving that caused an accident. We will question her about the incident again after she gains consciousness."
