A bus in the Philippines allows passengers to leave their payment on plastic containers placed beside the seats to minimise contact with each other.

Commuter Jefferson Camasin was stunned when he took a ride at an "honesty jeepney" on March 23 in Davao City before the Covid-19 coronavirus lockdown.

Upon riding, Jefferson said that the driver asked him to place his fare in one of the containers and take his own change if there is any.

He said: "I told the driver where I'm going. Honesty is also being tested, while being cooperative with the physical distancing rules."

Jeepneys are a popular modes of public transportation in the Philippines, especially urban areas like Davao City. The city had only been placed in quarantine on April 2 so public transport vehicles were still allowed to travel at that time.
