Several adult pigs and their litter were spotted roaming inside a hospital in Gulbarga in Karnataka state, India. Patients and their relatives were surprised to see the animals roaming in the corridors of the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). They called media persons who went and covered the incident.

Patients said the incident showed lack of hygiene and good management in the hospital.

Hospital officials said the pigs, which had come in through a breach in the compound wall, were quickly rounded up. Deputy Commissioner Sharath visited the hospital and said a police complaint would be filed against the owner of the pigs and the breach on the compound wall will be closed.
