Elephant herd stops traffic after wandering onto highway in northern India
A herd of at least nine elephants caused panic among locals following a walk across a national highway in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
The incident took place on July 19 in Kotdwar’s Lansdowne on National Highway 534 in Pauri Garhwal.
According to reports, a similar incident took place in the area a few weeks ago and spread terror in the same manner.
The footage from the highway show adults, as well as young elephants following the lead of their alpha leader, climbing on to the road one after another.
After wandering about on the highway, the elephant herd then made their way into the woods without causing any harm to life or property.
