Workers at a farm near Ahmednagar in Western India fled after sighting a huge snake while harvesting ripe sugarcane stalks on July 31.

The farm owner called Wild Rescue Society, and snake rescuer Akash Jadhav and his team went to the farm to rescue the snake.

They started looking for it in the spot where the workers had seen it last and found it hiding under layers of dry sugarcane leaves.

The python turned out to be very aggressive and attacked the rescuers several times resisting their attempt to catch it. Akash grabbed its head while an assistant managed to put it inside the snake bag.

They took it to a nearby forest and released it later.

Akash said: “The snake was shedding its skin. As snakes lose much of their vision during this time, they become very aggressive and attack everything they come across. This python made us nervous. I was happy to see it off.”
