Fire Service personnel have rescued two bulls and their owner from drowning in eastern India's Odisha after receiving a distress call.

A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal triggered torrential downpour in the region, flooding several areas.

The incident took place on August 26.

A video from Bhapur in Nayagarh district shows the team of Bhapur Fire Station personnel rescuing the bulls and their owner from the swollen Mahanadi river.

The team sat on a lifeboat while holding the bullocks by their horns and bringing them to safety.

While all 30 districts of the state have been receiving rainfall since August 25, very heavy showers have been recorded in nine districts, causing water-logging. The average rainfall recorded in the state in the 24-hour period till 9am was 76mm.
