Firefighters rescue buffalo hit by train from sewer in southern India

A team of firefighters rescued a buffalo that fell into an open sewer on being hit by a moving train in southern India's Tamil Nadu on November 20. The incident took place in Ambattur of the state capital Chennai.

A video of the rescue operation shows the dedicated team of firefighters led by Ambattur Fire Station Leading Fire Man Shanmugam, using thick ropes to pull the heavy bovine out of the open drain. The ropes can be seen bound to the injured animal's horns.

Firefighters can be seen putting in all of their collective strengths into rescuing the animal. One of them can be seen pulling it by the forelegs. In a few attempts, the animal is rescued successfully .

The animal has been treated and its condition is being stated to be out of danger as of now.
